Steppenwolf~~ Born to Be Wild

1968年Born to Be Wild是steppenwolf 第一張唱片的主打，這首重型音樂也是電影Easy Rider(彼得方達(Peter Fonda)監制及主演，反影當時年青一代的反叛性格) 的主題樂曲，推出之後大受歡迎，歌詞中第一次在樂壇中出現Heavy metal thunder字眼，奠定了steppenwolf樂隊的heavy metal形像，而作為heavy metal始祖之一的steppenwolf，音樂上亦以簡單的電結他為主結合Rock的節奏，所以也被視作heavy metal的主流，至於後期的非主流heavy metal樂隊已變得噪吵混亂，如獅吼般狂叫、已沒有旋律可言了。
