Neil Sedaka

1939年3月13日，Neil Sedaka在紐約出生，八歲便學鋼琴，十六歲被推薦入讀New York City high schools.雖然在早年是學古典鋼琴，但在大學時期就被同學的收音機所播放的pop music影嚮，開始在舞會上夾band，及出版兩張single，得到不錯的地區成績。後來遇上同窗Howard Greenfield，開始合作寫歌，從1959至1963年，他們為唱片公司寫下的歌共賣了2千5佰萬張唱片，從此創作才能已被肯定，而且他倆合作持續了三十年，也是樂壇史上的紀錄。六十年代初，他倆是最早簽約在Don Kirshner and Al Nevins at Aldon Music的創作人，之後加盟的songwriters是Neil Diamond,Carole King,Paul Simon,他們所創作的音樂，在六十年代最為歌迷受落。七十年代由Elton John的拉籠之下，灌錄了大量他早期及同期的歌曲，大受歡迎，當中有兩首是我最喜愛的~Solitaire及Laughter in the Rain。
